Saturn eclipsing the sun, with Earth
Hal Sheller shared this image with us during the service Sunday morning at the end of Family Camp. This image was taken by the Cassini spacecraft: "With giant Saturn hanging in the blackness and sheltering Cassini from the Sun’s blinding glare, the spacecraft viewed the rings as never before, revealing previously unknown faint rings and even glimpsing its home world." If you double-click on this image to load the full-resolution version, Earth is visible as the tiny speck at about 10 o'clock outside the bright rings and inside the faint outer rings. To help you locate us, this other image has an arrow pointing to Earth.

Clicking on the image will load the full image, which is 726KB. There are even higher-quality versions available at this page at CICLOPS (Cassini Imaging Central Laboratory for OPerationS).
