Brethren Men’s Retreat—21^st Annual

HEY GOOD BROTHERS, IT’S BEEN TWENTY YEARS SINCE OUR FIRST RETREAT IN 1992 AND OUR NEXT ONE IS LESS THAN THREE WEEKS AWAY! WE HOPE YOU CAN JOIN US AGAIN THIS YEAR!!

The WISE GUYS FROM THE EAST, Brothers Jim Lehman and Ken Klein-Smeltzer, will facilitate our Friday evening session and help us get organized (good luck) ! Brother Hal Scheller will share with us on Saturday morning about his time on spiritual pilgrimage in Spain with his son, Micah. Saturday evening, Brother Ken Rieman will share about his recent trip to Guatemala and discuss the question: “What does mutuality in mission look like?” Brother Mike Titus is looking forward to facilitating our Sunday morning worship service, so be sure to talk with him about any offering of prayer, song, dance, story or whatever that you’d like to contribute.

Because Brother Barry Joyce is dealing with very advanced prostate cancer (it’s been a year now) I’ve not asked about a traditional Native American Sweat Lodge Ceremony. I’ve done non-traditional sweats in the past and will be prepared to do one again this year. We’ll do our best to make a healing prayer for Barry and Brother Vance Shepard—and others who would benefit from healing prayer.

BRING YOUR USUAL STUFF: Bibles, bedding, books, clean underwear, musical instruments, stories, jokes, videos, craft materials, raspberry waffles, etc. If you want to lead a session of some kind just let Jim and Ken know on Friday night and we’ll work it into the schedule! Brother Ed Groff is back from Hawaii this year; let’s hope he makes his waffles!

PLEASE EMAIL US AT: manager@campmyrtlewood.org to let us know that you’re coming and if you have any special dietary needs, allergies, etc. You can also phone Sol Weil (Manager in Training) at (541) 572-5307—he’ll be in charge of registration again this year and will collect your $60. Let Sol know if you need a scholarship. Also, let us know if you plan to stay on Sunday night and help us eat up the leftovers.
