I thought some of you might be interested in some stats about what kind of traffic we get here at campmyrtlewood.org. This data is gathered by Google Analytics, which I've had set up on this site since January of 2008. Google Analytics data is completely aggregate and anonymous; it tells me nothing that can be connected or correlated to any specific individuals. If you have an account here, I've given you the option to opt out of Google Analytics reporting, but I hope you won't. Among other things, it gives me very helpful information about what browsers are being used, stats on visitors' screen resolutions, and other such things that help me to optimize the site design for all of our campers and visitors.

Over the last two months we've averaged about 10 visitors a day, with the average person staying on the site about 4 minutes and looking at about 6 pages per visit. The photos are the most popular pages after the home page, with the Family Camp page next in popularity. The approximately 640 visits to the site over that period appear to have been made by 450 separate people. Of those visits, over 90% came from the US, with the remainder scattered over 24 other countries, covering every continent but Antarctica.

Compared to the same period last year, we're getting about the same number of visitors, but people are staying on the site much longer, and looking at more pages.
