This is information just for site staff that may be posting event listings to the site:

I have completely redone the Calendar page today. Before, it was just a simple node that had to be manually edited to add or remove event listings. Now, it's a query display that will display nodes of the Story (or event announcement) type that have the List this announcement on the Calendar page checkbox checked and have at least a From date selected. Such events will automatically expire from the Camp Calendar page a few days after they become past events, but they will still appear elsewhere like they normally would.

In an attempt at clarity, I've renamed the Story content type to Story (or event announcement). When you add such content to the site (or edit it), you'll now see some new stuff (referred to above) near the top of the form, below the Title field. The aforementioned checkbox, and a couple of Date fields with popup date selectors. We don't really need the checkbox, as I could select for the Calendar page just by whether a date has been selected at all, but it seemed to me that the checkbox might make things a little more explicitly clear.
