THEME—UNITED IN A DIVIDED WORLD: Shifting the Paradigm.
Leaders: John and Margaret Jones; presenters, youth leaders, and activity directors to be announced.
Morning sessions will focus on the social evils of poverty and racism, militarism/the war economy, and environmental devastation. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the Poor People’s Campaign of 1968 emphasized that such social evils were systemic and that for our nation to be truly moral, we must challenge the existing paradigm. Today, we are called to participate in a new attempt to shift the national narrative about what it means to be a moral nation. The Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival will be explored at this year’s Brethren Family Camp.
We have some good presenters lined up, but we are still looking for other volunteers. What activities would you like to lead or help organize? Nature hikes, water games, art projects? Maybe you want to help the “Bird Man” build bird houses? Do you have a story for Campfire? A skit? A special song? Would you consider being a member of the Campfire Program and Music Leadership team? Please call John and Margaret Jones if you want to volunteer, or have program questions/ideas. (541) 572-1067
